Lazard Partners with Jumpstart for Read for the Record
Share
Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is the world’s largest shared reading experience to celebrate children’s early language and social-emotional development. Each year Read for the Record brings together millions of adults and children as they read the same book on the same day. More than 24 million people have participated in Read for the Record to date, and hundreds of thousands of books have been distributed to children across the United States over the past 17 years.
This year Lazard partnered with Jumpstart for two literacy events. On October 12, volunteers gathered in the NY office to create reading kits for young children, designed to make reading a fun, exciting family activity. On October 20, volunteers joined representatives from Jumpstart and DeWitt Head Start for an exciting in-person event, meeting first-time writer, Antwan Eady and illustrator, Gracey Zhang, of Nigel and the Moon. After participating in a read-along session with the author, volunteers were placed in classrooms for activities with the students.
